My client claims the disability amount on line 5844 of form MB428. Why is this not reflected in the number of disability claims in field 6072 of the MB428 and field 6095 of form MB479?

When a handicapped taxpayer claims the disability amount on line 5844 of form MB428, then field 6072 of MB428 and field 6095 of form MB479 should show "1", or a greater number if the taxpayer claims the disability amount for dependants as well.

This problem occurs when the taxpayer is transferring amounts to his/her spouse provincially (MB(S2)).

As a workaround, in the file of the taxpayer, use the keyword Override, select MB 428 line 6072 and enter the number of disability claims. Then use the keyword Override again, select MB 479 line 6095 and enter the number of disability claims.
